One Crazy Week

We have all had a cold this week. Well, at least I assume it is a cold. This flu season is going to make me go batty. I have heard so many reports of people that have had the flu (H1N1 or A) and all they had were cold symptoms. I am more aware about what other people are thinking as we go out and about. I even considered not sending Ross to school just because he was congested. In fact he did miss one day and was bouncing off the walls. So I think this is the beginning of a long winter.

On other news, we will not be moving. Billy and I have been struggling with this decision for a couple of months. His company is wonderful and they had always left the option open for him to go back to consulting. Of course that means he is gone all week and I am essentially a single mom then. We were looking forward to moving. We already had friends in Tampa, the schools are great and housing is cheap.

But between the salary difference of the 2 positions, we were going to have to pay for the move ourselves and we were also going to have to take a loss on the house it was ruining us financially. There was also the added stress of the job he is doing now and the stress of selling the house.

So overall, we feel this is the right decision for us. I know Billy had a hard time asking his company to go back. In some ways it puts him backward for moving up in the company because he will be a consultant. And he is also aware of the added stress this give his coworkers.

I will miss him during the week but we did this before and can do it again. When Ross is out of school we can also do some traveling with Billy again. That was always fun. Now to find a school for Ross to begin first grade in.

The biggest relief is the tension seems to be gone from the house. I am not sure how to explain it but I did not realize how much I had put our lives on hold when we found out we were moving. The memberships to the zoo and children's museum had lapsed and we had stopped being active in things. I now can get back to our old lives and will have some money to do some stuff.

I am busily making Halloween costumes. I can not believe it is only 6 days away. I also made my monogrammed pillow covers and made a mini quilt. I think mini quilts are the way to go. You get so much practice and it is a great way to try things. It also goes by pretty fast. I tried to machine bind it and I am not happy with how the binding came out. I do not know if it was the machine or just me. The corners do not look good.

Hope everyone has a great week. I need to get the family ready for church. I will try and come back later and post some pictures.

I'm sure that was a hard decision to come to, but I hope it will be for the best.

Thanks Lauren! We have struggled with this and the transition won't be easy for anyone, but we have prayed and thought this through so much we really feel we are being led by God in this decision. We were excited about moving to Tampa and we were looking forward to spending time with you and Josh, so we will just have to come visit! :)
