Truth, Justice and the American Way

I do not like Halloween. I seriously only remember trick or treating once in my life. I grew up overseas on different military bases and 2nd grade in Guam was the only year that I partook in the festivities. I am not into dressing up or going to random houses for candy.

But being a mom I think it is important to let my children have some fun now and then. Now I get to help make costumes. We have friends that throw a little party before the candy begging begins. So it is always fun to get together with neighbors and see all of the kids personalities come out in their costume choices.

Ross originally wanted to be Darth Vader but I gently nudged him to be Superman. I had already made the cape a few months ago and could improvise the rest much easier. I also did not have to buy a mask. And to tell you the truth, I am a little sick of Star Wars around here.

He loved his costume and the second he puts it on I think he really believes he is Superman. He also was allowed to watch the original movie before trick or treating.

Emerson was supposed to be kryptonite. But the costume did not turn out well. So we pulled out one of Ross's old costumes and we had a lion.

Now it is back to Christmas and sewing. I just tore all of the binding off of a mini quilt. I was just not happy with how the corners turned out. I am making a piece of furniture for Emerson's doll house a night and I need to get going on pajamas. Oh I also think I will quilt grandma a pillow. The madness needs to stop.

I am also having to move back into the house. We had packed up 1/2 of the kitchen when we redid the cabinets and now that we are not selling I get to unpack it all.

I'm glad you all had a nice Halloween, AND that you get to move back into your home. That's got to be nice!

I took you trick or treating at least once when we lived in Sabana Seca.
